Manaus to Ghana, West Africa

On Thursday we left Manaus for two days return trip out of the amazon followed by a week at sea crossing the Atlantic. Seas were very rough as we started across on Sunday, but things calmed down significantly as we got further into the center of the ocean. On Monday, we celebrated Steve's 25th Birthday while at sea.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE

We participated in a program called "Extended Family" where we adopted five student shipmates and will do activities periodically together as a family. Below we have:

Mandy, Ricki, Kristin, Keith, Liz, Natalie, David
Seven days on the Atlantic ocean looked exactly like this, except for minor squalls and of course, nighttime.

Something had to give and so just in time the above photo opportunities were changed to many like those below ... SEA OLYMPICS. Faculty and Staff comprised the LunaSea team and dressed appropriately in our proud pink.

Dennis, Eleanor, Liz and Keith ... can tell those first two are from Boulder can't you!

Robyn (psychology), Todd (business finance) and yours truly ... yeah really they are faculty

ROCKIN' THE PINK
